2026 OICA Child Advocacy & Chili Cook-Off

It’s time to turn up the heat for Oklahoma’s kids! The OICA Chili Cookoff & Advocacy Day at the State Capitol is back!
Held in the Supreme Court Hallway at the State Capitol, this event blends fun, food, and advocacy, giving policymakers a chance to engage with child-focused organizations—all while enjoying some top-notch chili. With your past support, we’ve made this an unforgettable day, and we’d love to have you back to make it even bigger!
Information For Chili Chefs:
· Set up can begin at 8:30am on the morning of the event. You should plan on making two gallons of chili. Chili can be made in advance.
· A person must always remain with the entry to serve people and discuss your mission or cause (lawmakers can leave entries and OICA volunteers will serve).
· There will be a contest for the best theme in booth decoration. Lawmakers and their assistants will judge for this award. Please promote your organization or your work, but also please refrain from political statements with your entry as we are a 501c3 organization that cannot engage in partisan activity.
· The event will be inside the supreme court hallway, 2nd floor. It will be all electric.
· We will provide cups/bowls, napkins and spoons. We will also provide bottled water.
· If your chili entry needs toppings (cheese, chips, sour cream, etc.), you will need to provide that.
· The judging will begin at 11:30 and will be done by members of the court and capitol press. People’s choice will be decided by the amount of money raised through a link which will be provided for each entry with proceeds going to OICA to cover the costs for the advocacy day event, with a portion going back to each entry for what they collect for their entry.
· Open to public sampling at 11:30.
· Clean up at 1:00.
· Each entry gets 1 complimentary apron. Each sponsor gets one complimentary shirt.
· Winners announced at the event prior to cleaning up.
